General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has rubbished claims that supporters of former leading member of the party, Alan Kyeremanten have been attacked and intimidated.
He indicated emphatically that government appointees and members of the NPP who initially rallied behind Alan Kyeremanten are still at post and are proudly flagging the NPP’s colours without intimidation.
“We’ve never encountered that Alan’s supporters have been intimidated. We have cabinet ministers who initially declared their support for Alan during the Super Delegates Congress still at post and proudly bearing the party colours. His claims don’t hold grounds and are purely false accusations.”
Justin Kodua also expressed gratitude to Alan Kyeremanten for his earlier dedication and service to the party.
He further cautioned party executives and officials to desist from improper alterations and verbal attacks on both Alan Kyeremanten and his supporters.
This comes after Alan Kyeremanten made an official announcement on September 26, resigning from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and declared his intention to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 General Elections under the Movement for Change.
He also expressed discontentment over the treatment he has received from party executives in the NPP, citing some unwarranted attacks on his supporters.
