In a surprising twist to the ongoing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Super Delegates Election in the Bono Region, Kwame Baffoe Abronye, the influential Regional Chairman, has made the unexpected decision to abstain from participating in the ongoing election.
Mr. Abronye speaking to Happy 98.9 FM cited personal reasons as the basis for his decision, signaling a significant development in the electoral process.
As a result of Chairman Abronye’s voluntary withdrawal from the election, the number of delegates actively participating in the voting process has been reduced from 38 to 37 in the Bono Region.
The NPP Super Delegates Election is currently taking place at the Pastoral Centre in Sunyani, where party delegates from various constituencies within the region have gathered to cast their votes and decide the fate of aspirants vying for the opportunity to represent the party in the upcoming primaries.
It is worth noting that despite the earlier reports of an injunction filed by Frank Musah Damtarl, the Sunyani East Constituency chairman, Mr. Abronye has publicly denied any connection between his decision to abstain and an alleged injunction on Mr. Damtarl.
