The Chief of Aduamoa in the Ashanti Region’s Afigya Kwabre District has been destooled by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

According to reports, Nana Osei Tiri Ababio was involved in a wide range of scandals, including numerous land-related conflicts with other chiefs.

In addition, he is charged with breaking some customary practices.

The Asantehene stated in his ruling that the Chief disregarded his warnings to stop his behavior.

Otumfuo, who strongly conveyed his disapproval of the chief’s disregard for his warnings, then issued an order for the removal of Nana Osei Tiri Ababio’s royal slipper.

The local chief was reportedly brought before the Asantehene for the fourth time in relation to land and other relevant issues.

On Monday, the Kumasi Traditional Council met as the Otumfuo announced his decision.

With a recent destoolment of another chief, four days ago, this will be the third in three months.

Following claims of unlawful mining, the Bekwai-Abodom Chief was deposed on August 10, 2023.

Nana Saforo Koto was charged with selling unauthorized lands to unauthorized miners for use in their operations within the rulership’s catchment area.

One of the Asante kingdom’s longest-serving traditional kings is the Chief of Aduamoa, who also served as the Nkonsonhene, and had been in power for nearly 20 years.

The Gyaase’s traditional activities heavily involve the Nkonsonhene, who represents Asante rulership and traditions.
