National Chairman of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said that money cannot decide who gets the votes in Party anymore.
At the opposition NDC primaries held last Saturday, a lot of money was exchanged, confirming the monetization of politics in Ghana as a result of earlier instances.
However, Asiedu Nketia expressed satisfaction with the turn of events after many candidates lost the election despite spending a lot of money.
He saw the outcome as a demonstration of the superiority of the foot soldier. Who becomes who in the NDC, according to him, is no longer dictated by wealth.
“This election has demonstrated the supremacy of the footsoldier of the party. One notable thing that we found is that money cannot decide who gets the votes in NDC anymore,”.
The NDC national Chairman said “we heard stories about big men, potentially rich men who could win elections. They all could not win in spite of their wealth and riches and the stories we heard about what they were threatening to distribute.”
