Former Ghana Football Association president MND Alhaji M.N.D Jawula has died at age 73.
Jawula is reported to have died in the United States of America on Saturday.
Jawula, who would have turned 74 in May, served as the GFA President from 1997 to 2001.
Under his tenure as the GFA boss, he saw the U-17 team place 2nd and 3rd in the 1997 and 1999 World Cups respectively; and the U-20 placing 2nd in the 2001 World Cup edition among many other achievements.
Lepowura Jawula, who was a CAF Interclub Committee member and chairman of the Ghana Premier League Management Committee, also served as a board member of Ghanaian side Real Tamale United.
He was born at Cowlane, a suburb of Accra in May 1949 to an afluent Ghanaian family. His father was the chief of Kpandai and as a result he was sent to the north together with his mother and step-siblings when he was three years old.
