The Chef de Mission for Team Ghana, Frederick Acheampong has confirmed to Happy Sports that the various Federations will receive their monies meant for preparation from the government ahead of the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Team Ghana is preparing ahead of the Games with over 100 athletes expected to participate in the various disciplines.
The Leader of delegation for Team Ghana indicated the government has approved for the team to arrive earlier in Birmingham to acclimatize and prepare for the Games.
Speaking in an interview on Wamputu Sports on Happy 98.9FM, Frederick Acheampong said, “The Sports Ministry will give out preparation money to the various federations on Wednesday”.
“The Ministry have asked us to arrive early in Birmingham so the teams can prepare and acclimatize before the games start”.
The Commonwealth Games are set to begin on July 28 2022, running to August 8 2022.
Since making its debut in the 1954 Commonwealth Games, Ghana has won 58 medals.
