Former Ghanaian BBC journalist, Paa Joe Odonkor, has disclosed his close relationship with the late drug kingpin, Pablo Escobar.
The former drug dealer revealed he used to do business with the late kingpin, describing him as a good natured man.
According to him, Pablo Escobar was a very good and principled man who took care of the poor. “He built houses for them and took care of their hospital bills but hated being cheated. He made sure to punish anyone who tried to take him for granted.”
Speaking to Rev. Nyansa Boakwa on Happy 98.9FM’s Nsem Pii show, he disclosed that because Pablo Escobar was kind, many tried to take advantage of him. “He killed anyone who dared to cross him. When I say cross him I mean in terms of trying to fool him or take advantage of his kindness.”
“He was an underground man whom you barely saw and you couldn’t hide from him too. It didn’t matter where you run to, he always found you. Even if you go to the moon he’ll find and kill you. I was always very careful around him and I was always very content with what he gave me. I also made sure to always do what was expected of me in order not to fall into his traps,” he emphasized.
Pablo Escobar was a notorious Colombian drug lord who founded and was the sole leader of the Medellin Cartel. He was also known as the ‘king of cocaine’ and the wealthiest criminal in history.
