Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee George Afriyie has intimated that a decision will be made on the type of coach the national team should go in for at the next Executive Committee meeting on Tuesday.
According to the maverick football administrator, the decision of picking either a foreign or a local coach will depend on the outcome of Tuesday’s meeting.
“Decision on the next coach of the the Black Stars will be taken by the Executive Committee of the GFA on Tuesday. The committee will decide whether to go for a foreign coach or a local coach” He told Angel FM.
“We want to be careful when it comes to selecting the next coach of the Black Stars because Ghanaians want a coach who will take us to the promise land by winning the AFCON and qualifying us to the world cup among others.” George Afriyie added.
Mr. Afriyie also hinted that the meeting will seek to deliberate on the performance of the Stars.
The Black Stars will be without a substantive coach after February 28 after the Ghana Football Association and Avram Grant came into a mutual agreement not to extend the contract after its expiration hence the decision to expedite action on his successor.
