His comments come at the back of the President’s 26th address to the nation on measures to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among other things the President revealed that he had not updated the country on the COVID situation because he was hoping that the next time, he would come to announce that we were ready to lift the restrictions and protocols, and get our lives and economy back to normal.

But David reacting to the President’s speech, told Samuel Eshun on the Happy Morning Show: “Since he started giving us updates from March 2020, he has always been reminding us of the need to adhere to protocols. There were restrictions and the announcement mandatory wearing of masks. People lost their jobs because of these restrictions”.
The editor, however, noted that the President has not lived up to expectation when it comes to adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
“About a few months ago, the President disregarded one of the protocols when he went with the cabinet, and the vice president to sir John’s funeral they disregarded protocols and that showed that he doesn’t follow his own rules. The pandemic needs leadership. This is because there are laws. And that leadership is what the president has failed to show”.

Meanwhile, he has cautioned Ghanaians not to be discouraged by actions of our leaders and continue to follow the protocols. “All the same we are responsible for our own lives. if you have the notion that since the president didn’t follow the protocols you won’t also follow it, then it is your own cup of tea”.
President Akufo-Addo has observed with concern the total disregard for the COVID-19 preventive protocols and has thus appealed to Ghanaians to strictly adhere to these protocols.
