Ghanaian controversial speaker Kwaku Peprah, popularly known as Quotation Master has spoken about the significance of our names on our character.
According to him, individuals need to be careful of the kind of names they bear and answer to, because names show ones character and the home you come from.
In an interview with Kwabena Afari Boafo on Happy 98.9 FM’s Nsem Pii, he said, “that is why our fathers were careful with the names they gave us”.
He went on to say that, “in the days of our father’s, people could tell the home you came from just by the mention of your name. But today, we don’t have all that because we have changed the settings and now bear English names”.
Quotation master also argued that, some Ghanaians are not proud of their names and tend to change their local names for English ones. He advised people who do such to put a stop to it saying, “you will receive implications of the name you answer to”.
He advised listeners to be proud and brace their local names because, “every name is a spirit and the spirit behind the name you carry protects you. If you stop using the name, the spirit also automatically stops protecting you”.
