The Minister for Inner City and Zongo Development and the former minister for information, Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid has appealed to the security personnel who will participate in the special voting process to vote massively for the New Patriotic Party and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to continue the good works for the security agencies.
Speaking at the Party’s press conference at Alisa Hotel, he stated: “I cannot end without making a direct appeal to the security agencies who are voting tomorrow in the special voting exercise. I want to say to you that look at your conditions, look at Governments that have come and gone in the fourth republic.
Reflect on your profession, on the Government that has constantly equipped you and given you the tools to be able to perform your duty as security persons in our country. I want to say to you that you will come to the conclusion that it is only when the NPP comes to government that we are concerned about properly tooling the security agencies and enabling them to do their work”.
Mustapha Hamid touted the many developments it has brought into the security agencies as he reminded personnel to think of all these developments as they go out to vote. “When we came to office, millions of dollars were owed to our soldiers from peacekeeping operations. Within two months of our existence as Government, we cleared those arrears. We have given you another five years to serve in the army so you can properly prepare for your retirement. We have equipped the police service with vehicles and ammunitions to allow us to feel safer”, he added.
He reiterated his appeal to the security forces by concluding: “I say to you to think of your profession and the future of Ghana. Vote number 1 on the ballot tomorrow in the special voting”.
