Scrap Black Stars 3rd Place winning bonus – Foh-Amoaning

Moses Foh-Amoaning, One of the commissioners of the Commission of Inquiry into Brazil 2014, has called for the cancellation of the 3rd place winning bonus of $12,500 for the Black Stars at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
The astute law lecturer and ex-boss of the Ghana Boxing Association believes that the budget doesn’t motivate the players to win the trophy since they are paid bonuses for for even 3rd place.
According to him, it would have been more prudent if the team had been promised a lump sum of money if they win the trophy instead of paying them huge sums of money at every stage till the finals.
“The bonus structure for the Black Stars is not motivating enough. How do you pay $12,500 for 3rd place? The players will not be too keen on winning the trophy because they know they can amass up to $12,500 for third place. In my estimation, the team should have been promised a handsome package to win the trophy instead of paying them huge bonuses at every stage.” Moses Foh-Amoaning bemoaned.
The four-time African champions have not won the trophy in 35 years and Avram Grant has been tasked to win the tournament.
