Simba FC bound Daniel Agyei says his decision to join the Tanzanian outfit was borne out of fear that the kick off date of the Ghana Premier League will delay due to the impending court cases.
The agile shot stopper was mooted to be close to signing for Bechem United but instead opted for the Tanzania league with Simba FC.
However, after being questioned on his decision to swerve the MTN FA Cup holders on Happy Fm, Agyei said, “It wasn’t only Bechem United, I had so many offers in the league but was afraid that, with the legal cases, it will be plunged into another delay just like last season.”
“I chose Simba over staying in the Ghana league because I want to keep up with the performances I exhibited last season, and it wouldn’t help if I go on a long break from playing. Had the GPL commencement date being on time, I would have signed for one of those clubs that showed interest in me.”
Simba FC lead the pack in the Ligi Kuu Bara with 35 points after 15 matches.
