Government is expected to launch a 5G high speed internet service today, November 1, 2024 at La Palm Royal Beach hotel.
The launch will be done by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Next Gen InfraCo NGIC and seven other firms were awarded 5G licenses by the government to deliver affordable 5G internet services in Ghana.
The other firms include Telecel Ghana, AT Ghana , Tech Mahindra, Nokia, Radisys, K-NET and Ascend Digital.
The ministry of Communication and Digitalization in their earlier engagement with the media made it known that the government has collaborated with seven companies to establish shared infrastructure for 5G services to bring faster Internet connectivity to the people of Ghana.
Ursula Owusu Ekuful, the Minister of Communication and Digitalization explained that the 5G service will help Ghanaians to have access to affordable digital services efficiently and effectively in the various sectors of the economy which include education, healthcare and many others.
