Uganda are more dangerous than Egypt- Nii Lante Vanderpuije

Minister of Youth and Sports, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye has rated Uganda as the main threat for the Black Stars qualification to 2018 World Cup as opposed to thoughts that Egypt would be his pick.

The Black Stars will be playing as guest to the Pharaohs in the second game of the 2018 world cup at the Borg El-Arab stadium on Sunday and many pundits have earmarked that encounter as the key to the team’s progression in the group.

However, Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuye thinks otherwise due to the style of play of the north Africans compared to the Cranes of Uganda who have tormented the Black Stars in recent outings.

“When the draw was done and I saw Uganda in there, it sent shivers through my body. I tipped the Ugandans to give us stern test and not the Egyptians,” Nii Lante told Happy FM.

“I rated Uganda above Egypt because of their pattern of play, which is very much like the Europeans and our players are familiar with that style because most of them play in the various leagues in Europe. They like to attack right from the blast of the referees’ whistle and when they don’t get a goal in the first fifteen minutes they get frustrated, unlike the Ugandans who play just like us but very compact in defense.”

“I’m not fazed about the Egyptians and I know on Sunday we’ll beat them, even with the unavailability of Asamoah Gyan and Kwadwo Asamoah.”
