Footballers and their crazy cars: The weirdest and most outlandish automobiles in footballing history

Footballers are known for their bizarre fashion choices – but nothing provokes a player into making an outrageous style decision like the purchase of a new car.
Sometimes, simply buying a top-of-the-line new vehicle can cause a few problems – just ask Steven Fletcher.
But in many cases, a footballer feels simply spending a big bundle of cash is not enough. For some players, there is a need to go one step further.
The latest addition to the club is Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who has treated himself to a GOLD-FOILED Audi R8
According to German publication Bild, the car has set him back about £150,000. Yikes.
But the Dortmund forward’s new ride doesn’t look out of place in most Premier League car parks. Just check out some of these beauties from over the years.
Actually, perhaps “beauties” is the wrong word…

Sullay Muntari

WOW: Sulley Muntari with his brand new Mercedes Brabus G63 AMG 6×6, priced at $900,000.

Why have four wheels when you can have six?

Stephen Ireland

A PINK Range Rover, driven by Ireland back in his Man City days. We’re not saying this is why they got rid of him, but…

El Hadi Diouf

Depending on who you support, you probably think El Hadji Diouf is either a massively entertaining rogue, or a mindless imbecile.
His gold Cadillac Escalade may provoke a similarly polarised set of opinions.

Mario Balotelli

Someone should really explain the concept of camouflage to Balotelli – it’s meant to make you LESS noticeable, Mario.

The former Chelsea and Arsenal defender proving that the vantiy of some footballers can become so extreme, they need to essentially turn their car into one big mirror.

And finally (for now), Portsmouth players

Back when Portsmouth were a Premier League club spending (way too much) money on big names, the player who performed worst in training was made to drive home in a beaten up, old Reliant Robin. So what did the players do? Chucked some cash at the problem and got it pimped into this bizarre creation.
