Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew has been adjudged the best footballer of the year by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) for the year 2019 at the 45th SWAG Awards held on Saturday.
The 28-year old beat off competition from Thomas Partey and Mubarak Wakaso to win the coveted prize.
Ayew had an incredible season with Crystal Palace in last season’s English Premier League.
He scored 9 goals in 39 appearances for Crystal Palace in the 2019/20 campaign.
He was named Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season as well as won the best goal of the season.
Jordan was brilliant for the Black Stars at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations despite the team’s shocking exit in the round of 16 to Tunisia.
