Technical Director of Sogakofe WAFA, Sam Addy has affirmed that his outfit will not replace Medeama SC in the upcoming G6 tournament.
Earlier report suggest that fourth place finishers in the last season’s Ghana Premier league, Medeama SC are contemplating of pulling out of the off season G6 tournament that is organized by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) for teams that occupies first to sixth position on the previous league log for yet to be specified cause.
However, seventh placed side, WAFA have counted themselves out of the competition if indeed Medeama opts out because they have not included that competition into their preseason schedule.
Speaking to Happy FM, veteran coach and now technical director, Sam Addy declared, “We’ve not prepared for any tournament now because we originally finished the league in sixth position and GHALCA told us to relinquish our position to Bechem United due to their involvement in Africa come next season and we obliged.”
“We felt it was a correct decision because we want to see our teams perform well in Africa. We’ve not done any preparation at all to feature in the G6 because we’ve not tuned our mind on that, and when they were scheduling for the tournament we’re not part of it, but if it happens that they want to add us again because a team want to withdraw then we have a meeting and think carefully about it because it’s not compulsory.”
The G6 tournament is scheduled to start on November 12th.
