Accra Hearts of Oak’s former fitness coach, W.O Paul Tandoh has backed Yaw Preko to win the league title for the club barring any interference from the club’s hierarchy.
Yaw Preko was appointed interim coach of the club with three matches to the end of last season’s league after the club demoted Portuguese coach Sergio Traguil to their youth team Auroras after a streak of poor results.
With the club yet to name a substantive coach, Yaw Preko’s name has popped up as a candidate for the who could be given the nod, but W.O Tandoh who once worked with the club reiterated his belief in the former Anderlecht flying winger and said if he is given sound mind to instill his own method in the team, he will win the premier league at the first time of asking.
“If Yaw is given the Hearts of Oak job, I believe he’ll win the league, but only if the club’s management or board will desist from interefering in his work,” says W.O Tandoh on Happy FM Wamputu Sports.
“He’s a brilliant coach and someone who knows the club inside out, but like I said, they need to leave him to do his own thing because I’ve been there before and I know what I’m talking about.”
Hearts of Oak will hope to improve on the 3rd position they finished last season when the Ghana Premier League kicks off on 18th December.
