
The Ghana Triathlon Federation will be having its third Kempinski-Cowbell race series in the year on the 12th November 2017 at the University of Ghana, Legon.
Two races will be ran in a day, adults and youth races.
The adult race will begin at 7:00 am sharp and the participants will be swimming 600m, ride a bicycle for 20km and run 5km.
And the youth race will be run in the afternoon at 2:00 pm in two categories:
kids 8-12 years and teens 13-17 years.
The kids will be swimming 100m, ride a bicycle for 2.5km and run 1.5km whiles the teens will be swimming 300m, ride a bicycle 5km and run 2.5km.
In an interview with Mr. Fusseini Bawah the federation president on Happy Fm he said, “There are more benefits in triathlon, because swimming is all about exercising and it help the body and riding a bicycle also part of exercising the body, I didn’t know how to swim till i joined triathlon and now i swim like a fish, so there is a lot of benefits in joining triathlon apart from learning how to swim, learning how to save situation at sea or in any other water bodies and you also know how to bike and how to run, so you get the opportunity to do three sports at the same time and you will have experience in all three sports”.
He again added, “Triathlon is like any other sports that you can earn money, earn a living and also become a professional trial athletes like many people in Europe enjoying millions of dollars so triathlon is not an alien sports, is like any other sports like football, Athletics, Basketball etc. But in triathlon, you do three things at same time so the benefits is enormous”.

This time, a new, more spectator-friendly route has been put together for the event.
