300,000 condoms to be shared among athletes at 2024 Olympic Games

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has provided 300,000 condoms for athletes who will be competing in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.

10,500 athletes will be competition in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in 45 different sporting categories to fight for 329 medals (Gold, Silver, and Bronze) across the various events.

With the opening coming up on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Seine River where athletes will arrive via boat, the IOC has announced the number of condoms to be shared as part of efforts to promote safe sex during the games.

The 300,000 condoms which have been provided by the International Olympic Committee will be sufficient for each of the 10,500 athletes to use two per day throughout the event.

This initiative by the IOC which began at the 1988 Seoul Olympics with 8,500 condoms distributed aims to promote safe sex and wellbeing among athletes during the games.

Meanwhile the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games which will be hosted by NBC’s Mike Tirico, Grammy winning singer Kelly Clarkson and NFL legend Peyton Manning will kick off at 7pm.
