Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, George Akwasi Afriyie says it will be Kwesi Nyantakyi’s decision to step down as the head of Ghana football, but cannot be forced out if he wins his election on the FIFA executive committee board.
The GFA capo is contesting in an election to be an executive committee member of the world Football governing body, however Worlanyo Agrah, a former Ghana Football Association General Secretary asserted that if Nyankyi wins the election he should consider quitting as the President of Ghana to focus solely on his new position.
However,George Afriyie has rejected that notion from Worlanyo Agrah as he feels the term of his boss has not elapsed and therefore any decision he’ll take on the contrary will be based solely on his decision.
In an exclusive interview with HappyFM sports, he said, “I believe that if Kwesi wants to quit or continue being the head of the association will be his own right because he being voted into office and by any other means before he got that position.”
“What we need to take note of is that, he has mandate to rule Ghana football till 2019, and any other decision he’ll take will be by his own decision and I don’t think anybody can push him out of office.”
