Gunmen attack TV station; workers feared dead

Reports suggest that some gunmen have besieged a local television station in the Afghan capital Kabul, killing unconfirmed number of workers while injuring several others.

According to the BBC report, Witnesses say the attackers threw grenades and fired guns recklessly as they made their way into the Shamshad TV headquarters.

One reporter for the channel who managed to escape told the BBC the attackers were still inside the building where gunfires were still being heard.

It is reported that more than 100 employees might be trapped inside the building.

It is however not clear who the attackers are and what could have motivated the attack on the media house.
