Sacked Sam Allardyce Packs his Bags and Heads to Spain After 'Silly' Gaffe

Sam Allardyce has declared he is unsure whether he will return to football after being sacked as England boss as he left his home in Greater Manchester with a luxury break at his Spanish villa likely in order to reflect on his future.
Allardyce described his meeting with undercover Telegraph reporters as a ‘silly thing to do’ and pinned the blame on the press for his downfall, claiming that ‘entrapment’ had won.
“Obviously I have to do this before I go away. On reflection it was a silly thing to do,” Allardyce told Sky Sports News HQ. “I was trying to help someone out I knew for 30 years and unfortunately it was an error in judgement on my behalf.
“Entrapment has won on this occasion and I have to accept that.

Allardyce briefly spoke to reporters before revealing a confidentiality agreement meant he could not go into more detail

“The agreement was done very amicably, I apologised to the FA and to all concerned for the unfortunate situation that I put myself in.
“I have a confidentially agreement lads, I can’t answer any more questions just now, I’m going on holiday to reflect.”

Allardyce is understood to be set for a break on the Costa Brava in Spain, where he owns a luxury villa.
The complex, pictured above, includes a plaque with “Big Sam’s Villa” embedded on it.
When asked whether England would be his last job in football, Allardyce merely said: “Who knows? We’ll wait and see.”

A market has already been opened on where Allardyce will work next with former club West Ham (10/1) the early favourites, while West Brom and Stoke (both 16/1) are next.
A return to Sunderland could be in the offing given David Moyes’ dreadful start to the season, with 20/1 odds available.
