
Black sticks of Ghana in preparation towards the upcoming Hockey Nations Cup in Egypt has named its final squad.
The squad released in the early hours of today comprised players mainly from clubs in the Greater Accra hockey league.
Notable absentees are Shadrack Baah and Johnny Botsio but had the likes of Alfred Ntiamoah, skipper Nsalbini Salya, Akaba Elikem, current SWAG hockey player of the year Emmanuel Ankomah and Micheal Baiden of Free state making the list. Coach Winfred Sackey and his technical team named a 18 man squad to represent Ghana in Egypt from 22nd to 29th October, 2017.
Goalkeepers: Eugene Acheampong (GRA) and Karikari Jeffery (Trustees)
Defenders: Nsalbini Salya (Trustees), Abbiw Charles (Police), Ntiamoah Alfred (Police), Damalie Luke (GRA), Ernest Opoku (GRA), Stephen Ofosu Asamoah (Trustees) and Samuel Akpene Agbeli (Trustees).
Midfielders: Akaba Elikem (Exchequers), Akaba Emmanuel (Exchequers), Samuel Afari (Trustees), Damalie Matthew (GRA), George Asiedu (Exchequers) and Ankomah Emmanuel (Exchequers).
Strikers: Micheal Baiden (Free State), Francis Lartey Tetteh (Trustees) and Micheal Akuamoah (GRA).
