Sadness swept across the shores of Ghana like a town plagued with a fatal virus when news of her international Raphael Dwamena’s botched move to English Premier side Brighton was announced.
More profound for the gloom was the report that he failed to land the move due to a cardiac condition.
Thankfully, Raphael Dwamena, who grabbed a brace in his debut for the Black Stars against Ethiopia a few months ago, is back to grace the green turn again.
Detailing the good news on Happy FM’s weekend Sports hosted by Ohene Bampoe Brenya, the lethal striker couldn’t hide his elation at news of his medical clearance.
“I’m really excited to be declared fit to play again. I thank God for this. After another examination of me by medics, I have been declared fit to play. I just have a chip implanted near my heart which is just to monitor how I’ll be faring. Doctors have asked me to rest for two days and after that, I’ll be back to full scale training. In fact I’m starting training on Monday and will play on Wednesday because we have a game.” Dwamena told Happy FM.
Dwamena, who has clocked five goals in five games for his club side FC Zurich in Switzerland, intimated that he wasn’t utterly disappointed when the Brighton deal fell through because he is young and there are several opportunities ahead if him.
“I wasn’t down-spirited when the Brighton deal didn’t go through. I know I am young and have a lot in stock to deliver. It was only a blink but I’m back with a bang. Dwamena added.
