Ex Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) boss Alhaji Ali Raji has labelled the current crop of players in the local league as the worst he has ever seen.
It has been widely believed that the standard of the Ghana league has dropped drastically to the level one can comprehend and the former GHALCA boss holds that the current players in our league lack the needed quality to bring back the excitement which is missing.
Speaking on Anopa Bosuo Sports on Happy FM, Alhaji Raji said, “The worst crop of players I have ever seen is that of this generation. I have seen at least three (3) or four (4) generations of footballers and I can say that the quality of players we have currently cannot be compared to any of the past generations”.
In an attempt to outline the cause of this menace, the former Eleven Wise director slammed past governments and coaches of our various clubs as the cause.
“The bad economic standard, which has been the reason for frequent player transfers, is the cause because the few skilled players have to move out of the shores of Ghana for greener pastures. Moreover, the qualities of some of our coaches are very disgusting. If you are a coach and you can’t transform raw talents, then you are not a good coach. Our coaches have failed in polishing our talents into stardom”. He asserted on Happy FM.
