Aduana Stars joined WAFA on top of the Ghana Premier League log after the week 23 fixtures.
While the Dormaa club were winning at home to Ebusua Dwarfs, their regional rivals were beating WAFA to aid their title challenge.
Aduana’s win was inspired by Bright Adjei whose first half brace made it possible.
At the Golden City Park, WAFA took the lead through Richard Danso but a Stephen Sarfo brace did overturn the result in Berekum Chelsea’s favour.

With 7 weeks to go, the battle for the title looks a straight fight between WAFA and Aduana barring any late resurgence by Kotoko and Hearts whose week 23 fixture was postponed as a result of Asante Kotoko’s unfortunate motor accident last Wednesday on their way home to Kumasi after their midweek defeat at Inter Allies. Games involving Kotoko have been suspended indefinitely.
In other fixtures, relegation threatened Great Olympics were thrashed at home by Medeama SC. Justice Blay, Bismark Oppong and Latif Salifu got the goals.
Elmina Sharks put brakes on resurgent Ashanti Gold, beating the miners 2-1 away from home. Eric Osei and Benjamin Tweneboah got Sharks’ goals. Prince Owusu scored Ashanti Gold’s consolation.

Tema Youth came from a goal down to tame for Inter Allies by 3-1. Francis Adjetey, James Akaminko and Joseph Paintsil made it possible after Abdul Nassiru Hamzah had given Allies the lead.
Ahmed Toure netted a hattrick to aid Bechem United thrash Bolga Allstars 4-0. Maxwell Frimpong scored the other.
In Wa, All Stars won by 2-1 against Liberty Professionals. David Abagna gave the home side the lead, Emmanuel Sarpong drew Liberty level late in the game but couldn’t hold on, allowing Mathew Kelvin Andoh secure all 3 points for Wa Allstars at the death of time.
