Comoros has leapfrogged Ghana to take the top spot in Group I of the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

This comes on the back of their incredible 2-0 victory over Chad on Tuesday evening
Comoros today locked horns with Chad at the Municipal Stadium of Oujda in a Round 4 fixture of Group I.

Although the first half ended goalless, the visiting side managed to score two times in the second half.

Myziane Maolida equalized in the 59th minute to break the deadlock of the contest before a strike by El Fardou Ben doubled the lead for Comoros.

Following the 2-0 win at full time, Comoros has gone above Ghana in the Group I standings as a result of a superior goal difference and head to head.

Ghana is now second on the Group I table but on same points [9] with Comoros.
