Youthfulness in Black Stars squad will yield results soon – Ghana Legend Willie Brown

The Black Stars of Ghana will face Niger in Morocco for their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed.

As stated by the GFA’s Director of Communications, Henry Asante Twum, “The game between Ghana and Niger is going to be played in Morocco because that’s where the CAF wants the game to be played. Niger, unfortunately, do not have the requirement of a standard stadium in their country, so CAF settled for Morocco. Berkane to be precise.”

The announcement comes as the Black Stars prepare for their upcoming doubleheader against Angola and Niger.

Coach Otto Addo has unveiled his final squad for the qualifiers, which includes familiar faces like Mohammed Kudus, Thomas Partey, and Jordan Ayew.
Anderlecht midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has also earned his first call-up under Addo’s tenure. Notable absentees from the squad include Tariq Lamptey, Ernest Nuamah, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Dede Ayew.

Ghana will kick off their campaign against Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on September 4, 2024. The match against Niger will then take place in Morocco on September 9.
