Angola head coach Pedro Goncalves has outlined the challenging path Ghana faces in their bid to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Speaking ahead of their crucial Group F qualifier against Ghana on Friday, November 15th, at Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda, Goncalves acknowledged Ghana’s formidable reputation but highlighted their current predicament.
“Ghana is one of the best teams in African football, with exceptional players, especially in the midfield and attack,” Goncalves said. “However, their chances of qualifying are low at the moment. They not only have to win their remaining matches but also rely on Sudan, who need just one point from two games. It’s a very tough challenge for Ghana.”
Currently sitting third in Group F with just two points from four matches, Ghana trails both Angola and Sudan.
The Black Stars must secure victories in their final qualifiers and hope for a Sudan slip-up to keep their AFCON hopes alive.
