Ghana’s hopes of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations have been dealt a significant blow with a wave of withdrawals from the national team.
Several key players, including Inaki Williams, Tariq Lamptey, and Antoine Semenyo, have pulled out of the squad due to various injuries.
Here’s a breakdown of the withdrawals:
• Inaki Williams: Hamstring injury
• Tariq Lamptey: Calf discomfort
• Jonas Adjetey: Injury setback
• Jerome Opoku: Chronic back pain
• Antoine Semenyo: Patella tendon injury
• Alexander Djiku: Hamstring injury
• Ibrahim Osman: Hamstring injury
• Joseph Painstil: Personal reasons
With such a significant number of players unavailable, Black Stars coach Otto Addo is facing a major challenge in assembling a competitive squad.
To fill the gaps, Terry Yegbe, an Elfsborg defender, has already been called up to replace injured defenders Djiku and Opoku.
Ghana is set to face Angola in Luanda on November 15th, followed by a home match against Niger on November18th.
