The National Farmers Day Celebration and Agric Festival, now in its 39th edition, is a platform to honour the hard work and dedication of farmers who play a crucial role in ensuring food sufficiency throughout the year. The event is organized by the Ministries of Food and Agriculture and Fisheries and Aquaculture Development.
Scheduled to culminate on Friday, December 1, 2023, in the Western Region, this year’s National Farmers Day Celebration carries the theme “Delivering Smart Solutions for Sustainable Food Security and Resilience.” The theme reflects the ongoing challenges faced by farmers, including climate change, post-harvest losses, high input costs, and low returns on investment.
As the festivities continue, AGRIFEST 2023 provides a platform for farmers, stakeholders, and the public to engage in discussions, exhibitions, and demonstrations aimed at promoting innovation and sustainable practices within the agricultural sector. The awarding of the $1 million prize is expected to add an extra layer of excitement and motivation for farmers across the nation.
