After the tour, Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, the Executive Chairman of the LOC, addressed the press, assuring that all contractors are committed to finishing these facilities by December 20th. Originally allocated six months for promotion, the LOC now has a two-month window to intensify awareness and publicity for the Games.
Dr. Decius Chipande, the Coordinator of the African Union Sports Council (AUSC), also expressed satisfaction with the progress during the tour. He shared optimism about the completion of these facilities in December, setting the stage for a successful competition.
The 13th African Games, Accra 2023, is scheduled for March 8, 2024, featuring 23 disciplines, including chess as a new addition, with eight Olympic qualifier events.
