2023 AFCON Qualifiers: Ghana handed tricky draw

Ghana have been handed a tricky draw in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Black Stars have been paired against Angola, Madagascar and Central Africa Republic in Group E of the qualifying round.

Ghana will face Madagascar in their opening game of the qualifiers before taking on Angola and Central Africa Republic in the other games which will be played in two-legs.

The three teams paired with Ghana missed out on the previous edition and will be battling it out for one of the two tickets to qualify for the main tournament next summer.

South Africa legend Radebe, who helped in conducting the draw tipped Ghana and Angola to qualify from the group. He also indicated Madagascar may be the third force in the group to pull a surprise.

Ghana last won the title in 1982 in Libya and have gone about three decades without winning the title. The Black Stars were eliminated from the group stage of the competition in the last edition hosted by Cameroon.
