Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton, is optimistic of victory in his first game in charge as head coach when Ghana hosts Angola on Thursday, March 23 in the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
Chris Hughton, who was appointed in February after succeeding Otto Addo was officially unveiled in Kumasi on Monday, March 20 as the new Black stars coach.
Speaking in a pre-match conference ahead of his first test when Ghana hosts Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, the former Brighton boss, Hughton, said,” It is very important, because it is the first game but also it’s about the head coach. It is about us(Ghana) playing a good game at home whimsy a tough opponent like Angola”.
“Personally, it would be a wonderful thing and of course hugely important to get the win for the team” he added.
Ghana are unbeaten in Kumasi for the past two decades and are heavy favourites to defeat Angola before traveling away to Luanda on March 27.
