Hearts of Oak legend, Mohammed Polo, has expressed deep concern about Ghana’s chances in the ongoing AFCON tournament following their unexpected 2-1 defeat to Cape Verde.
In an interview on Happy FM’s Happy Sports with Nana Fosu Appiah, Mohammed Polo emphasized the crucial nature of the upcoming clash against Egypt, stating, “Our defeat to Cape Verde has just made things more difficult for Ghana to qualify out of our group. We have to beat Egypt at all cost, our worse results on that day should be a draw not a loss. It’s frustrating how we have made qualifying difficult.”
With the Black Stars facing an uphill battle to secure a spot in the next stage, Polo stressed the importance of a positive outcome against Egypt, highlighting the need for a determined effort to avoid further setbacks in the tournament.
Ghana’s pivotal match against the Pharaohs on Thursday, January 18 will determine if the ‘Stars’ remain in the tournament or face an early exit .
