The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially postponed the highly anticipated match between Heart of Lions and Hearts of Oak scheduled for match day five. The decision stems from the recent Volta dam spillage, which has had a significant impact on the host town, Sogakope, the home base of the Ghana Premier League team Heart of Lions.
The GFA is closely monitoring the situation and has pledged to announce a rescheduled date for the fixture, emphasizing their commitment to safety in the league. Since their return to the Ghana Premier League, Heart of Lions has played four matches but has not secured a victory in any of them during the 2023/24 football season. Remarkably, all four games have concluded in draws.
Currently, Heart of Lions stands in 13th place on the league table with a total of four points.
