2022 Kirin Cup: Ghana beat Chile on penalties to finish third

Ghana defeated Chile on penalties to finish third in the Kirin Challenge Cup tournament on Tuesday.

The Black Stars showed an improve performance against Chile following their disastrous performance against Japan which they lost 4-1 in the first game.

Coach Otto Addo made five changes to his starting line up ahead of the game against Chile.

Goalkeeper Abdul Manaf Nurudeen, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Benjamin Tetteh and back to fitness Abdul Rahman Baba were all handed a starting berth to face Chile.

The Black Stars dominated proceedings in the first half but had to finish the game with nine men in the second half.

Alidu Seidu and Mubarak Wakaso were sent off in the second half but the team managed to hold Chile to the penaltyshoot out.

Ghana won the game on penalties courtesy two saves from goalkeeper Abdul Manaf Nurudeen.

Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku scored from the spot kick.
