Dreams FC emerged triumphant as they secured their first major trophy by defeating King Faisal in the final of the Ghana FA Cup on Sunday.
Dreams FC’s remarkable journey culminated in a well-deserved 2-0 victory, leaving their opponents devastated after missing out on the opportunity to compensate for their demotion from the Ghana Premier League.
Aziz Issah made history with a spectacular solo effort that found the back of the net in the 20th minute. His goal not only gave his team the lead but also set the tone for an exciting game.
As the match progressed, King Faisal fought valiantly to level the scoreline. However, Dreams FC’s solid defence and tactical prowess proved difficult to overcome.
With the tension mounting, Sadiq Alhasson, who had just come off the bench, made an instant impact in the 70th minute. Alhasson’s clinical finish doubled Dreams FC’s lead, effectively securing their hold on the match.
Dreams FC’s path to the final was no easy feat. In the semifinals, they faced a tough challenge from Skyy FC, eventually prevailing with a 2-1 victory. King Faisal, on the other hand, overcame Nsoatreman in a thrilling encounter that ended 3-2, earning their place in the final.
The victory holds even greater significance for Karim Zito’s men as it secures their place as Ghana’s representative for the upcoming 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup.
The club’s accomplishment will see them compete against other top teams from across Africa, further enhancing their reputation on the continent.
