2021 AFCON Qualifier: Black Stars jets off to Sao Tome on Sunday

The Black Stars of Ghana will depart to Sao Tome for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Sunday 17 November, 2019.

The team returned to the capital on Friday morning after their opening game against South Africa.

Ghana defeated South Africa 2-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday in the opening game of the AFCON qualifier. Thomas Partey and Kudus Mohammed scored for the Black Stars to secure the win.

The Stars have shift focus to their next game against Sao Tome on 18 November, 2019 and they begin training today.

Happy Sports has learnt that the Black Stars will train at the newly-constructed astro turf pitch at Madina a suburb in Accra.

The team will hold two training sessions at the venue before they embark on their journey on Sunday to Sao Tome.

The move to shift the Stars training camp to Madina a very populated area is part of the campaign to drive support for the Black Stars.

The team will also go by a charter flight to Sao Tome.

Ghana takes on Sao Tome on Monday 18 November, 2019.
