The Black Stars of Ghana have been handed a tricky group after drawing Morocco, Gabon and Comoros in Group C of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament to be staged in Cameroon.
The live draw held at the Yaounde Conference Center saw the four-time champions pitted against North African giants Morocco at Palas de Congres Hotel in Younde on Tuesday 17 August 2021
The Black Stars were paired to also face debutants Comoros and Pierre Aubameyang’s Gabon following the draw ceremony held in the host nation of Cameroon.
The draw which took place saw 24 participating teams divided into six groups of four.
Ghana was represented at the draw by Black Stars coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor and Ghana FA’s Alex Asante.
Coach Akonnor will be hoping to end Ghana’s AFCON title drought at the tournament.
Ghana last won the title in 1982 in Libya and has come close to winning it on three occasions in 1992, 2010, and 2015.
The tournament will take place from 9 January 2022 to 6 February 2022 in Cameroon.
