Medeama SC defeated AshantiGold by a lone goal to win match day six of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League at the Akoon Park on Saturday.
The Mauve and Yellow and the Miners faced off in one of the tough fixtures to be played in this round of league matches.
Prince Opoku Agyemang continued with his impressive goal scoring form and scored the match winner for Medeama to hand the home side the three points.
He has now scored four goals in six matches for the Mauve and Yellow.
Medeama Star Kwasi Donsu made a return to the starting lineup as he replaced Michael Yeboah.
Left back Philip Osei returned from injury to take up his position in the starting lineup for Samuel Boadu’s side.
Medeama held on to the one goal to claim all three points to move to retain their third position on the league standings but will be levelled on points with second placed Aduana Stars.
An unfortunate incident happened during the game as Medeama coach Samuel Boadu was rushed to the hospital for medical attention as he collapsed.
The club released a statement his condition was stable and was responding to treatment after the game.
“Samuel Boadu has been stabilized after being rushed to the hospital during our 1-0 win over @AshantiGoldSC_ in @GhanaLeague this afternoon.
“He is under intense observation at the Pentecost Hospital in Tarkwa”.
