General Manager of Accra Great Olympics, Oloboi Commodore has called for uncompromising football reforms from the soon-to-be-named FIFA/CAF Normalisation committee.
All football related activities are currently suspended in the country following an investigative documentary that exposed corrupt and match-fixing activities of top officials and referees of the Ghana Football Association.
The exposé, released in June, led to the resignation of Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi and the dissolution of the Executive Committee of the local football governing body.
In an interview with Ohene Bampoe–Brenya on Happy FM‘s Anopa Bosuo Sports, the vociferous Great Olympics top brass posited that he expects an impartial and independent Normalisation committee.
“The Normalization Committee shouldn’t be partial in their work. They should be independent and straightforward,” Oluboi stated on Happy FM.
He added, “I know a lot of things in our status will be changed. The GFA rules must be applied to everybody without fear or favour.”
A two-man Liaison Team set up by FIFA/CAF is currently running football in the country.
A Normalisation committee is expected to take over affairs from the Liaison Team.
Members of FIFA and CAF are already in the country to vet selected members for the committee before official an announcement is made.
