Parents who took their wards to Koforidua Secondary Technical School have expressed shock and displeasure over the GHS 40.00 they have been asked to pay.
According to the parents, they did not anticipate paying any levy given that government has not announced the approval of such levy.
However, the Headmaster of the school, Mr. Prince Foli says the levy is being collected by the PTA, stressing that it is not compulsory. But parents say they have been told it is compulsory hence those who could not pay yesterday could not complete the process and had returned today to pay the PTA levy to enable them get their admission forms.
Students have also been asked to buy cutlasses, short and long brooms and scrubbing brushes as part of the prospectus.
There was a long queue at Koforidua SECTEC on Tuesday morning as many parents from across the country and their children came to the school to undergo registration and admission process for both GREEN and GOLD TRACKS. Some parents arrived at dawn to enable them complete the processes early to return home.
