Ghana forward Kevin-Prince Boateng has disclosed his decision to leave Eintracht Frankfurt after one season was influenced by the departure of head coach Niko Kovac.
Kovac left for Bayern Munich and Kevin followed suit by signing for Italian top-flight side Sassuolo.
According to the 31-year-old, Kovac was the only reason he signed for the German club.
“One big reason why I left Eintracht Frankfurt was because Niko Kovac left. I joined the club because of him,” Boateng told Bild.
Kevin played a vital role as Kovac won his first silverware – DFB Pokal – as manager last season.
