Aspiring National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Baba Jamal, has predicted that disappointed illegal miners in the country will vote massively for the NDC in the 2020 general elections.
According to Baba Jamal, the disappointed ‘Galamaseyers’ in the country will give the NDC 1 million votes irrespective of who leads the NDC to the 2020 general election.
He said he based his prediction on what he claimed to be the NPP’s dismal performance since the party assumed the reins of government in January 7, 2017.
“The ‘Galamsey’ guys will vote massively for the NDC. They will give the NDC 1 million votes. Anything below 55% for the NDC will surprise me,” he told Kwame Afrifa-Mensah on ‘Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben’ show.
Alhaji Baba Jamal, described the ban on small-scale mining which he affirmed had brought economic hardships to a section of the population, as discriminatory.
He also added that, “the NPP government should start packing their bags and luggages because they will be kicked out of office by Ghanaians in 2020.”
He however revealed that the double track system being introduced by the NPP government in Senior High Schools this academic year, is a shift system in disguise, which will lower educational standards and promote truancy and indiscipline in the educational system.
The former minister appealed to the NDC supporters nationwide to elect him as the Party’s national organiser in their upcoming delegate’s conference.
