Ghana winger Solomon Asante has been shortlisted for the USL Player of the Month for August following his impressive displays for Phoenix Rising FC.
The diminutive wideman has been a key cog for the Arizona-based side since joining last year.
The 27-year-old enjoyed a stellar month in August where he scored six goals for Rising FC to help keep the side strongly in the race for first place in the USL’s Western Conference.
The former Berekum Chelsea is competing with Jose Barril of OKC Energy FC, Thomas Enevoldsen of Orange County SC, Cameron Lancaster of Louisville City FC and Nashville SC’s Matt Pickens.
He has netted 13 goals in 26 appearances for the Didier Drogba-owned outfit.
