A leading member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Victor Smith has called on the leadership of his Party to call the Party’s founder, Jerry John Rawlings to order.
According to him, Rawlings should be stopped from sending negative signals to their main opponents which is the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), following his incessant public outburst against some leading members of the NDC.
Rawlings, in the last few years, has been criticizing some members of the NDC at any given opportunity.
Speaking on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show with Kwame Afrifa-Menasah, the former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom said;
“We will need the support of our founder, whether he is good or not, we need him. But he should be stopped from sending wrong signals to our main opponents especially on Mahama and other members of the Party.”
“If he chose to be neutral that will even help than the consistence criticism of our party members,” he appealed.
Former President Rawlings has in recent times taken on his Party members accusing them of failing to uphold probity and accountability which are the tenets on which the party was built.
