Gospel musician Erico has debunked speculations going around that he is quitting gospel music to venture into secular music.
In an interview with DJ Advicer on Happy FM’s Ayekoo after drive show, he said, “Oh no, Gospel music is what I know, I’m not someone who is now going start doing highlife or secular music.”
This speculation follows some statements he made in a recent interview; he recounted the ill treatment he and some people go through as gospel musicians.
“For me, when I’m reborn to this earth I’ll not venture into gospel music. I’ll choose highlife instead because most stakeholders in the gospel industry are so so wicked. They don’t support artistes,” he said.
“The challenges we (gospel artistes) go through is numerous but most people think everything is going on smoothly,” he added.
After winning the third edition of TV3’s Mentor music reality show, Erico joined the gospel trio Ampong, Isaac and Cee at Bandex music production.
He launched his 5th album titled ‘M’ayanwu’ which literary means ‘Close shave’ last year, April 30, 2017
Erico, prior to participating in TV3’s Music Talent hunt, was already a singer, who moved from church to church to minister to people.
